Walter Owen Book Prize

The Walter Owen Book Prize honours Walter Owen, Q.C., P.C., (1904–1981), a prominent member of the Law Society of British Columbia. He was Lieutenant Governor of B.C., a past President of the Canadian Bar Association and the first President of the Foundation for Legal Research.

The prize recognizes excellent legal writing and rewards outstanding contributions to Canadian law. The prize, which carries a cash award of $30,000, is given to books in English in odd-numbered years and French in even-numbered years.
